"Will is the newest employee at the Hobby Lobby arts and crafts superstore in Boise, Idaho. Beneath his mild-mannered exterior, he hides a dark secret from his past and blood ties to one of his fellow employees. He also harbors a zealous conviction that the Apocalypse is imminent and, any moment, he will be transported to heaven in the Rapture.
As he bides his time working for minimum wage, Will anticipates the rewards that await him in the afterlife. His mysterious past and vision for the future gradually emerge through conversations with his coworkers in the store’s fluorescent-lit break room. The inner lives of the other store employees — their fears, frustrations and longing for self-expression — also are revealed."
A Bright New Boise shines a light on the alienation and anguish of modern life and the search for meaningful connection to each other and the divine.
